E 221 Gas Tax Funds

Gas Tax Funds are received by the City from the State of California. The use of these funds is regulated by the California Streets and Highways Code. Specific applications for this and other funding sources are covered in the 2020 Metro Funding Sources Guide.

The passage of SB 1 (Beall, 2017), also known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, instituted several reforms for funding generated by gas tax revenues and administered by the State, including expanding the types of street capital expenditures eligible for gas tax funds.
